Nearly every tower company advertises that they offer tower inspections. A tower inspector is a high calling requiring consummate knowledge and experience in knowing what a good job looks like. Labeling oneself does not make the label true.

Many new companies in recent years have hung out their shingle as “Tower Inspectors”. At Wireless Legacy we teach Tower Inspections. That’s right, we teach Tower Inspections as part of ComTrain’s five day Tower technology class.

An inspection of a tower is a detailed and critical activity; the ultimate Quality Assurance/Quality Control activity. If one is not proficient in the terminology, application and implementation of the skill sets of the tower industry, one cannot expect to collect meaningful and accurate data during an inspection. More simply; if someone is not practiced at installing correctly what they are inspecting, they won’t know what a good job looks like.

Quality control may be defined as: “The assessment of product compliance with stated requirements.” In this case “Product Compliance” refers to the condition of a tower, its appurtenances and load against an established set of standards. The standards are a collection of client specific criteria and industry and manufacturer’s standards.

The accuracy of a given report will hinge on the collection of meaningful and accurate data. The chances of collecting meaningful and accurate data are directly related to the purposeful development of tools and systems to facilitate quality data collection and the education of inspectors on those tools and procedures and the standards that apply to the work.

We have spent years studying and implementing the skill sets required to perform excellent work in our industry and pass those skills along to others in training. We apply those skills to tower inspections, guided by a set of procedures and data collection tools, to provide an accurate independent assessment of a site’s condition with respect to the established standards provided by clients, manufacturer’s and industry.

One of the tools we use for data collection is a tower inspection software. The software tool is a guide to high quality data collection and reporting. Photos and data are collected and stored in the program at the time of inspection. The data is later cross checked for quality and the program sorts the information and provides final reports.

This system eliminates paper inspection forms and the disorganization they foster. It also provides a means for organizing digital photographs and tagging them with one or multiple identified deficiencies throughout the report. The report is customized to a clients needs before a team is mobilized and tracks the data collected to help assure that no data is missed.

Whether using software for tower inspections or client provided documents, you can be assured that Wireless Legacy knows what a good job looks like. Let us show you what an inspection was meant to be.
